David Wilson is a collaborative multi-disciplinary artist whose career spans work in film, theater and experience design. Wilson co-founded the Ragtag Film Society and the True/False Film Fest, both in Columbia, Missouri. He is a Creative Capital funded artist, and co-creator (with Bob Massey) of The Nitrate Hymnal, which premiered in 2003 with the Washington Performing Arts Society & Anti-Social Music. As a filmmaker, his feature, We Always Lie to Strangers (2013), (co-directed with AJ Schnack) won the Directing awards at its SXSW premiere. He has served as a panelist, moderator, and juror at festivals including Sundance, The Toronto Film Festival, and the Busan International Film Festival, and consulted with The National Endowment for the Arts, the Creative Capital Foundation, and ITVS, among others. In 2016, Wilson became the youngest person ever to be awarded an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters by the University of Missouri.
